If you own a Xerox printer or copier, this article is for you. We will talk about the Xerox Support Page and a lot of the ways you can use this to find the answers to the questions you are looking for.
First of all, the Xerox Support Page is run by Xerox, so it is from the manufacturer of the products you use. Common items you may want to look for include the following:
- Answers to Common Issues
- Community Answers or Solutions that might work for you
What you won’t get help on here, are things like getting service for an existing copier or seeing what a copier may cost you to lease or purchase.
Example 1 – Poor Print Color
Let’s say you have a color issue with a Xerox Altalink C8030 and you want it to be better. In fact, maybe you would want to keep the copier, if the colors just looked better. Rather than swapping the copier out of frustration, you could search “color quality C8030” and then you would find this cool color correction page.
Example 2 – Print Drivers
Maybe you need a specific driver because you print on a Mac, or an older PC and want to get the right driver for your operating system. Maybe you even want to use features like Color by Words to improve your print quality from above, but know the Postscript driver works better for it. Your could simply search for your model and get a full list of drivers right there.
One of our favorite parts, if you register, you can ask questions and other users can help you solve your issues. Example 3 – Installing New Firmware
Next, you may want to install new firmware. Perhaps scan to email stopped working or color were bad based on the above example. The support center will provide firmware and instructions to install the firmware. Firmware is the software in the copier that makes it work, and generally can’t be changed by users. If you follow their directions, it can solve a ton of issues like scan to email not working, color being bad, security holes, etc.
