The New Xerox VersaLink B71XX Series

If you are looking for a value-rich, 11″x17″ black-and-white copier, the Xerox VersaLink B71XX series is one of the best values on the market.

Maybe you want to make sure you spend as little as possible dealing with printing, while still having the stats and specs you need for management. If you are familiar with the Xerox product line, this series will be pretty easy to understand, and you can decide if it is right for you.

Replacing the B70XX Series

If you have Xerox copiers now, you could have a Xerox VersaLink B7025, B7030 or B7035 today. The new copiers use the same speeds, and you shouldn’t see a real difference between the B70XX series and the B71XX series.

  • The VersaLink B7025 is now the VersaLink B7125 – 25 pages a minute
  • The VersaLink B7030 is now the B7130 copier – 30 pages a minute
  • The VersaLink B7035 is now the B7135 copier – 35 pages a minute

Generally speaking, with Xerox, the last two digits of a model number show the speed of the engine as measured in pages per minute. There are exceptions to this rule, like the WorkCentre 6655 which was 36 pages a minute, not 55. The ColorQube 8700 wasn’t 0 pages per minute either, but otherwise you will find this notation holds true in this product family.

One of the big reasons people choose the VersaLink series is because of the cost. The VersaLink is roughly half the cost of the AltaLink series (albeit slower), but for those who need the fastest speed or who print more than 10,000 pages a month, this copier really hits the mark. If you print a lot more than two boxes, you may want to consider that upgrade.

The Xerox AltaLink B8145 or B8155 (45 and 55 pages per minute), are workhorse black-and-white copiers. The newer Xerox VersaLink B8125, B8130 and B8135 models are not designed for heavy, heavy loads, but they can print a lot and will do so at a discounted price.

We would love to help you find the best black-and-white 11″x17″ copier for your company. It will likely be a Xerox (but also could be a Canon or HP if that suits you better.) We just want to let people know about how Xerox is helping reduce the cost of printing by making some solid black-and-white copiers at a much lower than average market cost.
